IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING NEW FORMAT, 7v7 GAMES:

Rhode Island Youth Lacross (RIYLL) is excited to annouce that our 3rd and 4th grade players will play in a new format of 7v7 begining this spring season.   This means that players will play on smaller size fields than their couterparts at the U12 and U14 age groups.  This new format was  adopted in line with progressive thinking about youth sports development, which empasizes the value of smaller fields to increase the number of "touches" per player.   Many other sports, including soceer, hockey, and football, have adopted similar measures for their youngest players.  RIYLL and US Lacrosse have worked collaborivetly in the off season to ensure we are following similar practices to promote development and enjoyment of the game of lacrosse.  While Rhode Island is certainly not the first market to develop this new format, we know with any new shift there can be challenges and questions to address throughout the season and we will be happy to work with you and your player to ensure a successful and enjoyable season.

PLEASE READ:  Uniforms are required for all NEW players and can purchased from Chill -Life SCYL Webstore: (South County Lacrosse – CHiLL-life sport).  If you have one from last year, it is NOT mandatory to purchase.
